Environment & Climate

Biodiversity loss, global warming, rising sea levels, extreme weather events, land degradation, deforestation, oil and plastic pollution, freshwater shortages… Our planet is under intense pressure from human activity.

Observe, understand, protect, adapt — CLS supports decision-makers at every step. Scientists, oceanographers, meteorologists, climatologists, water and land managers, forest authorities, and agricultural or livestock policymakers all rely on CLS to understand the environment, assess threats, and make informed decisions.

From space, our experts monitor key indicators of planetary health: animal tracking, biodiversity monitoring, oceanography, hydrology, land mapping, and risk management. By combining observation with insight, CLS helps decision-makers adopt resilient and sustainable approaches to managing territories and ecosystems.

Sustainable Fisheries Management

Sustainable Fisheries Management

Marine resources are often overexploited — overfishing, illegal, unreported, and unregulated fishing (IUU). They also suffer from human activities such as pollution. Combined with the effects of climate change, the pressure on marine ecosystems has never been greater.

The entire fishing and aquaculture economy — and countless global jobs — are at risk. For some coastal communities, access to marine protein and food security are also in jeopardy.

Since the 1990s, CLS has supported the development of responsible, sustainable fisheries. Our experts deliver services, advice, and technical solutions across four key areas:

  • Establishing responsible fisheries management
  • Combating IUU fishing
  • Developing sustainable fisheries plans
  • Supporting traditional and national fisheries
energies and infrastructures

Energies & Infrastructures

Environmental, sovereignty, and energy security challenges have never been more critical. While oil and gas remain essential to global supply, the shift to low-carbon sources such as wind and solar has become a necessity.

CLS supports both offshore and onshore energy stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle — planning, operations, securing infrastructure, and managing environmental impact. At sea, we deploy, maintain, and recover custom oceanographic instruments. These tools provide critical data for modeling marine conditions, optimizing offshore operations, monitoring underwater noise, and protecting biodiversity.

On land, we combine satellite imagery, atmospheric modeling, AI, and in-situ data to support the development of wind farms, assess urban heat island effects, and monitor the structural stability of critical infrastructure (dams, bridges, pipelines, mines, sensitive buildings) using radar interferometry (InSAR).

Thanks to the combined expertise of our teams in oceanography, Earth observation, and data analysis, CLS helps secure infrastructure, improve industrial performance, and reduce the environmental footprint of energy activities.

mobility

Mobility

Each person generates around 500 kg of waste annually, resulting in millions of tons to be collected and processed — with direct consequences for the environment. These growing volumes demand increasingly effective and sustainable solutions.

At the same time, humanitarian needs are escalating: in 2024, 339 million people will require assistance worldwide, while over 65 million have been forcibly displaced — a historic record. We are facing the largest humanitarian crisis of our time.

What do waste collection operators, humanitarian organizations, and public institutions have in common? They all rely on land-based logistics. They must optimize operations, ensure staff safety, and enhance performance through expert, flexible fleet management.

With over 30 years of experience in vehicle fleet monitoring, CLS is a key partner in tackling logistical challenges. Our specialists deploy intelligent solutions to optimize workflows, secure transportation, and transform challenges into sustainable opportunities.

Maritime Security

Maritime Security

Every day, our seas and oceans face unlawful activities: oil spills, illicit trafficking, piracy, robbery… These threats jeopardize safety at sea, marine ecosystems, and national economic interests.

National and international maritime security missions aim to: protect people and assets, enforce laws and secure borders, enhance national defense, preserve marine environments, monitor fishing activity, defend strategic economic interests.

CLS supports major maritime security agencies by integrating satellite imagery, AIS data (terrestrial and satellite), RF detections, commercial databases, AI, and machine learning. With access to over 300 satellites, we provide global surveillance and high-resolution maritime activity analysis.
