Closing the year on a record level of impact, driven by CLS Group employees

Dec 18, 2025

As a mission-driven company, CLS develops space-based solutions to study, protect the planet and manage resources sustainably. But beyond technology, it is the women and men of the Group who bring its environmental and social commitments to life every day.

In December, CLS chose to celebrate the end of the year differently, by bringing together all its employees worldwide around a collective, meaningful moment fully aligned with its CSR values. An initiative that perfectly reflects the strength of CLS’s culture and employer brand.

A global celebration reflecting a committed international group

With 1,100 employees spread across all continents, CLS’s mission is carried forward every day around the world. In December, for the first time, all teams came together on the same day, despite time zones, during a global All Staff Meeting, designed as a live TV-style broadcast delivered in two sessions.

From every region, teams shared not only what they do, but above all why they do it, because at CLS, performance is also measured by impact.

Local projects, global impact

CLS All staff meeting Indonesia - beacons longevityFrom Indonesia, teams opened the day by sharing their vision of sustainability based on the long-term durability of satellite beacons. Designed to last and maintained until their very last signal, these beacons embody a responsible approach, countering planned obsolescence and driven by the long-term commitment of field teams.

In the Middle East, in Dubai, air-quality monitoring solutions were highlighted through a mobile measurement truck delivering real-time data to help protect public health and support decision-makers facing urban and climate challenges.

CLS All staff meeting Oceania - wood buoyIn Australia, innovation takes an unexpected form with eco-designed wooden ocean buoys, developed to collect essential data while reducing environmental footprint, a concrete example of how CLS combines scientific performance with environmental responsibility.

In Japan, teams shared their commitment to supporting fisheries, helping fleets adopt safer and more sustainable practices in a country where the ocean is deeply rooted in culture and identity. In South America, in Peru, collaboration between the Mobility Business Unit and CLS Peru illustrates another dimension of the Group’s mission: supporting the operations of one of the world’s largest humanitarian agencies through reliable connectivity and tracking solutions that enhance field team safety.

CLS All staff meeting South Africa - wildlife and cattle conflictIn South Africa, satellite technologies and environmental data are used to support coexistence between humans and wildlife, helping reduce conflict while protecting both local communities and biodiversity.

Across Europe, expertise and collaboration come together. In Italy, the staff exchange program led by TRE Altamira, a subsidiary specializing in millimetric ground-motion measurements, fosters skill sharing and career development across the Group.

In France, teams worked tirelessly on ocean observation, current measurement and the modernization of small-scale fisheries. The year was marked by a major milestone with the United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC) held in Nice.

CLS All staff meeting France - Wind Data PortalStill in France, underwater noise monitoring to protect marine mammals, led by Quiet-Oceans, has proven effective in reducing noise pollution in the Mediterranean Sea. In Nantes, Meteodyn, CLS’s wind modeling subsidiary, launched its new Wind Data Portal, a key step toward making wind data accessible worldwide.

In the United Kingdom, artificial intelligence is being used to help save lives at sea through the THEMIS SAR solution, while Ground Control teams, recently integrated into the Group, are pushing the boundaries of data collection by monitoring glacier melt all the way to the summit of Mount Everest using satellite IoT.

In the United States, teams at Woods Hole Group are strengthening the resilience of coastal territories against climate change by supporting several cities along the U.S. East Coast.

All these projects are deeply rooted in local realities, yet driven by a shared ambition: taking concrete action for a sustainable planet and a more just world.

A mission-driven company brought to life by its people

During the event, CLS President Stéphanie Limouzin reaffirmed the essence of the company’s mission:

CLS All staff meeting - CLS a mission driven company“Being a mission-driven company is not just a status. It is a responsibility we carry collectively. What our teams do every day truly matters, and it is this shared conviction that enables us to create lasting impact.”

At CLS, CSR commitments are reflected not only in the solutions delivered, but also in the way teams work: international collaboration, trust, knowledge sharing and genuine care for the people who make up the Group.

Ending the day with solidarity in Toulouse

associations invitees à la convention CLS 2025In Toulouse, the Group’s headquarters, the day continued with a solidarity evening hosted at the Food Bank of Toulouse, alongside Emmaüs Toulouse, Stade Toulousain Handisport, Expédition 7ᵉ Continent, and employees engaged in the Impact Days initiative.

A strong and symbolic decision marked the event: replacing a traditional reception with a direct donation to provide concrete support to vulnerable communities during the holiday season. This effort was reinforced by a food and essential goods collection led by CLS employees, which proved highly successful.

Working at CLS means giving meaning to action

This global year-end celebration highlights what makes CLS unique: a mission-driven company, a strong culture of engagement, and a strategic vision that places impact, collaboration and responsibility at the heart of its development.

At CLS, acting for the planet also starts with the way we work together.
