The satellite first enters the <strong>In-Orbit Commissioning (IOC)<\/strong> phase, a dedicated period for instrument tuning, calibration and performance validation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Copernicus Sentinel-1D<\/strong> was successfully launched on 4 November aboard an <strong>Ariane 6 rocket<\/strong> from <strong>Europe\u2019s Spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>During this phase:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>data acquisitions are used exclusively for calibration and performance checks<\/li>\n<li>instruments and processing chains are fine-tuned<\/li>\n<li>overall data quality is thoroughly assessed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For Sentinel-1D, the IOC phase will run until end April. <strong>Only after this date will data be released to users<\/strong>, ensuring that operational products fully meet Copernicus quality standards.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_238952\" style=\"width: 910px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-238952\" src=\"https:\/\/maritime-intelligence.groupcls.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/EU-Copernicus-Sentinel-2-top-5-imageries.jpg\" width=\"900\" height=\"636\" alt=\"EU Copernicus Sentinel-2 top 5 imageries\" class=\"wp-image-238952 size-full\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-238952\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">European Union, Copernicus Sentinel-2 imagery<\/p><\/div>\n<h2>CLS Commitment to the Sentinel-1 Mission<\/h2>\n<p>CLS has been supporting the Sentinel-1 mission for more than a decade.
