The first signal received came from a beacon installed on a Senegalese fishing boat off Dakar, a tracking : first step for a sustainable management of marine resources.<\/p>\n<p>This instrument brings to seven the number of Argos instruments currently in orbit, thus strengthening the Argos constellation which connects about 18,000 active beacons each month.<\/p>\n<p>From 2019, Kin\u00e9is will operate the Argos system and, with the launch of its constellation of 20 nanosatellites in 2021, will be able to give access to a space IoT to a large audience.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a class=\"button\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cls.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/presse\/PR-Metop-C-Argos-3.pdf\">Press Release<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On 16 November 2018, EUMETSAT&#8217;s control centre (European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites) successfully activated the Argos-3 instrument on the Metop-C satellite.
