Understanding climate\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1em;\">mechanisms primarily means understanding the ocean. But how can we learn more about this immense maritime <\/span><\/strong><strong>territory?<\/strong><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Over the last 30 years, observation systems for the ocean have made giant leaps. The development of\u00a0<span style=\"line-height: 1em;\">satellites for space oceanography and collection of environmental data has been the driving force behind this\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1em;\">revolution. From the start, CLS was a pioneer in the field, and receives, processes, and qualifies these satellite data\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1em;\">for the entire international community. As world leader in altimetry and the exclusive operator of the ARGOS system\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1em;\">for location and collection of environmental data, CLS works daily with experts in climatology. Today, they provide us\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1em;\">with their perspective and give us an update on the planet\u2019s health.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div><strong><span style=\"line-height: 1em;\">The processing\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1em;\">and qualification\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1em;\">of data on mean\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1em;\">sea level\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1em;\">done by CLS is\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1em;\">fundamental.<\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"line-height: 1em;\">Mean sea level is rising.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1em;\">It is a key indicator of current global\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1em;\">warming.
