Mapping to Protect Threatened Mangroves<\/h2>\n

Mangroves are rare and prolific ecosystems that protect coastlines from erosion, shield populations from extreme ocean weather events (like tsunamis), and support rich biodiversity.<\/p>\n

Despite their numerous benefits, mangroves are disappearing three to five times faster than global forest losses, causing serious ecological and socio-economic consequences. Current estimates suggest that mangrove coverage has halved in the past 40 years. Coastal agricultural development, pollution, and disease are the primary drivers of this loss. CLS is committed to supporting territories in monitoring and conserving mangroves. <\/p>\n
