Dear all,
Alexi Glover from ESA asked me to take on the role of spokesperson for the SWWT topical group on atmospheric effects for the next workshop at ESTEC (3-5 November).
Alexi sent me a preliminary list of members. Could you please confirm your interest to participate to such activity ? Do you plan to come to the meeting at ESTEC on November ?
As I have to report at the SWWT meeting on the group's activities over the preceding 6 months, can you send me an abstract or a short text about what you are doing ? I think the first step will be to present our different activities, then in the future we'll be able to present group's activity which has not begun yet.

The group will be responsible for "identifying new areas of or opportunities for applications oriented atmospheric research and/or new types of data that could be adapted to create space weather applications products. Potential service users will also be contacted and involved where possible".
Perhaps the first step is a synthesis of what exists, what are the identified data and research in the domain and then we'll be able to think about new axes of interest. As I'm far from a specialist in Atmospheric Effects domain, I hope you'll accept to participate and help me to build something about the subject in the following months.

I look forward to hearing from you soon,
Best regards
Annick

As I said during the last SWWT meeting in november 2003, the "Atmospheric Effects" topical group is currently a small group mostly made up of people working on
- drag effects,
- geomagnetic indices,
- space debris or
- spacecrafts reentrance.

As spokesperson for this group, I would like to invite you to join us. If you are interested and if your field of expertise is related to atmospheric effects, please let me know and participate with us to make this an active and dynamic working group.

Regards
Annick
