  Participant 1 : CLS

CLS   CLS started an activity in satellite altimetry in 1990 with the creation of the CLS Space Oceanography Division. The principal CLS investigator in this project will be Pierre-Yves Le Traon. He will have the overall responsability of MFSPP WorkPackage 3000 and, in particular, of the related altimeter tasks ( task 3100 and subtask 3310). Other people involved in the project will be G. Larnicol in charge on the altimetric data processing and analysis, and G.Dibarboure in charge of software adaptation and development.

  Participant 2 : FMTO

FMTO   The FMTO (French Meteorological Office) main participant for MFSPP WP3000 will be Hervé Roquet, a Civil Engineer of Meteorology at CMS, Météo-France, Lannion. He will be the Data Coordinator for SST Data in the project and responsible of the SST tasks( task 3200 and subtask 3320 ).  Pierre Le Borgne will work with H. Roquet on the SST tasks.

  Participant 3 : ACRI

ACRI   The company ACRI is established in Sophia-Antipolis, France, since 1989. ACRI has been strongly involved in Ocean color remote sensing and exploitation since its incorporation, mainly through its continuous involvement with the ESA MERIS mission. ACRI is currently leading a scientific group in charge of defining the MERIS data processing algorithms for ESA, which includes several European Laboratories (FUB, GKSS, LPCM, PML).  The Principal investigator for ACRI in MFSPP will be Francois Monatgner. F. Montagner will be the Data Coordinator for Ocean color in the project and responsible of the corresponding tasks ( subtask 3330).

  Participant 4 : LPCM

LPCM   During the past 35 years, LPCM has acquired an international notoriety in the field of marine optics and ocean color remote sensing. Laboratory and in situ measurements of sea water inherent and apparent optical properties have given rise to several publications, which became references in the marine optics community.  In MFSPP, LPCM will be involved in the analysis of ocean color data ( task 3330 ) and in the definition and implementation of methods dedicated to the use of ocean color. The principal LPCM investigator will be David Antoine.

  Participant 5 : ENEA

ENEA   ENEA (Ente per le Nuove tecnologie l'Energia e l'Ambiente) is the Italian government agency responsible for the areas of new technology, energy and the environment. Its two fundamental tasks are to conduct research in these areas and to diffuse the results nationally.  The principal ENEA investigator for MFSPP Wp3000 will be Dr. Salvatore Marullo. Dr. Marullo will work on Task 3200 (Develop an NRT SST product) by providing CMS with AVHRR data for a small part of the eastern Mediterranean sea. He will define with CMS an optimal SST product. For Task 3320, he will be responsible for the oceanographic analysis of SST data during the TOP.
