The early task 2100 consists in the preparation of improved Earth Observation data analysis. CLS is responsible for this task which is divided into subtasks 2110 and 2120.
| Data Timetable |
Months 3-6 |
| Objectives |
Provide SST data for assimilating into models |
| Methodology |
Data from NASA Pathfinder will be quality controlled, and prepared for direct assimilation into models. The method will consist in getting the data, comparing the data with Reynolds analyses and other SST products, and preparing gridded data sets directly useable with both global and shelf sea models |

Task 2400, wich is the preparation of Level 2 global and regional data, depends on this work. |
| Deliverables |
Global and regional gridded SST data |
| Data Timetable |
Months 7-12 |
| Objectives |
Provide improved coastal altimeter data for assimilation into models |
| Methodology |
EO data will be refined using improved corrections (including new tidal models and new orbits) and accounting for the needs of ocean modelling, as identified at the end of the AGORA project. Specific processing and quality control will be used to get better regional data sets (e.g. using better regional tidal models, more careful data editing to maximize the number of data available near the coasts). Altimeter data will be processed and made available with different options, with and without inverse barometer effects and tidal corrections |
